Capturing the glow of the still rising sun.
It was our first "planned" sunrise. My husband and I had a divine appointment with our creator. We were seeking a new season. A season in which we could experience something other than pain on this February 28th. Eight times it has come and eight times it has gone. and each time we have mourned... grieved... dreaded the anniversary of our Alex's heavenly promotion.. We were searching–longing for a way to welcome this day with a heavenly mind and a not so broken heart. It was important to my husband that we find ways in which we could be revived and replenished...
God met us here at DeGray Lake. He offered a sunrise that stole our breath. He managed to breathe in a fresh perspective and fill us with a sacred hope. The visual of the calm and warmth of the lake mirrors what God was able to do in our spirit. All that came over us was as perfect and tranquil as I've ever experienced. It was internally, lovingly and intentionally instilled in us.
With restored hope we stepped into our next season.
